The list of fields below will be retained upon merge in Alma when using the following processes:
1) Merging two existing repository records using "Merge and combine inventory" with merge routine/rule "TCNJ duplicate reconciliation merge rule" in the Metadata Editor. The preferred record is on the right side of the MD editor.
2) Copy cataloging using "Copy & Merge" within the MD Editor from Search External Resources/WorldCat.
3) Importing using import profile "Import and merge."
Note: Overlay functions do not retain protected fields. Only merge functions retain protected data.
