Core Databases

CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature)
Indexes and provides citations and abstracts from periodicals and other materials in nursing and allied health, as well as relevant materials from biomedicine, management, behavioral sciences, education and consumer health.
PubMed
Provides access to MEDLINE, the National Library of Medicine’s database of bibliographic citations and abstracts for the biomedical sciences, including medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health care systems and preclinical sciences. Sociological Abstracts
The principal index to the literature in sociology and related disciplines. It is an international database that provides citations to and abstracts from journals, books, dissertations, and conference papers.
Biological & Agricultural Index Plus (H. W. Wilson)
Indexes periodical articles in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, ecology, genetics, microbiology, physiology, zoology and other related fields. Also covers agricultural fields including agricultural research, chemicals, economics and engineering.
PAIS International
Indexes and provides citations and abstracts from policy oriented literature of the social sciences, including economics and political science.
Biological Sciences
Provides citations with abstracts to research literature in biomedicine, zoology, ecology and some aspects of agriculture and veterinary science from over 8,000 serials, as well as conference proceedings, technical reports, monographs and books, and patents.
Communication & Mass Media Complete
Provides research in areas specifically related to communication and mass media.
PsycINFO
Comprehensive international database of psychology. Provides citations and abstracts from the academic, research and practice literature in psychology, and includes materials from related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, education, social work and criminology.
Worldwide Political Science Abstracts
Provides citations with abstracts to the literature of political science and related fields such as international relations, law, public administration and public policy.

Academic Search Premier
Multidisciplinary database that can be a good starting point for finding resources in social sciences, business and economics, politics and policy, health and medicine, etc.
Anthropology Plus
This database offers broad coverage of anthropology literature, including articles, conference papers, and reports. Covers a range of fields (including physical anthropology, biological anthropology, archaeology, cultural anthropology, ethnology, human ecology, religious studies, folklore, linguistics, museum studies, and art history) from within anthropology and related disciplines.
GenderWatch
Collection of international academic journals, magazines, newsletters, pamphlets, reports, papers and proceedings devoted to women’s and gender issues.
Google Scholar
Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed articles, papers, books, and other scholarly sources. To take full advantage of the TCNJ collection, users must login.
