Find below two pre-formatted subject searches that reveal books, printed and electronic, held by Gitenstein Library. Those headings also reveal relevant audio and video files made available by the library. Find too reproductions of letters, diaries, interviews, and other first-hand accounts that reflect the lived experiences of African Americans including African American women during the Civil Rights (and other) eras in American history.
Important Note: Expand your results to include online journal articles and other e-resources by clicking on the "Books, Articles, and More" radio button located at the top of the Advanced Search screen. Re-execute your search. This will mostly lead to journal articles that contain primary-source excerpts.
These databases are mostly licensed by the library. Access by matriculated students and current faculty/staff is permitted with authentication (i.e., your PAWS username and password).
See the Primary Sources Online page of the History libguide > African Americans tab. There you will find links to many more online primary sources in African American history.
