LIT 311/499 and WGS 314: Women's Autobiographies: Home

Introduction + Featured Reference Works

Use this libguide to complete your research for the course. For additional sources and search tips, see my English literature libguide. If you'd like to meet with me about your research click on the Schedule Research Consultation button in the right-hand column.

Begin your research with the reference works listed below. Use reference works legitimately to track down background articles authored by literary scholars; choose and/or refine your research topic; identify disciplinary terms, an important consideration in "keyword" searches of library databases such as JSTOR; and find both autobiographies and relevant, high-impact secondary criticisms. For example, cite a secondary journal article found in the "further reading" section of an encyclopedia article.
