Be on the lookout for fake news or other misleading information. You may find it useful to review he suggestions from the Gitenstein Library's information literacy tutorial module for evaluating resources. The series of short videos at the end of this module are especially helpful.
The Crash Course series of videos in media literacy is also a helpful guide to analyzing and processing information sources.
In addition to using sources familiar to you (textbooks, WSJ, etc.), consider browsing other resources for ideas about recent trends in finance (and related fields, including taxation and economics).
