Recommended Databases

Recommended databases for finding articles on software engineering include:

ACM Digital Library:  A research, discovery and networking platform containing:

  • The Full-Text Collection of all ACM publications, including journals, conference proceedings, technical magazines, newsletters, books and rfc editor.
  • A collection of curated and hosted full-text publications from select publishers.
  • The ACM Guide to Computing Literature, a comprehensive bibliographic database focused exclusively on the field of computing.
  • A richly interlinked set of connections among authors, works, institutions, and specialized communities.

IEEE Xplore: A vast research platform containing full text of all IEEE journals, conferences, and specifications and specialty journals such as the Bell Labs Technical Journal.  Computer science along with biomedical research, robotics, AI, and other fields related to computer science are covered in Xplore.

Google Scholar: An uncurated collection of scholarly publications with undefined collection boundaries but often very useful in identifying a complete citation or providing full text of an article to which TCNJ does not access.
