The above subject searches, though narrowly focused, reveal citations from hundreds-to-thousands of articles. Narrow your results set by adding another search term (i.e., keyword) or phrase such as ecology, community, diversity, identity, or "art education" to the second search box on the Advanced Search page.

The premier journal archive, JSTOR does not permit subject searches. To search for articles about art education, click Advanced Search. Scroll down the resulting page and check the boxes next to the categories Art & Art History and Education. Now use the blank search box(es) at the top of the page to find articles about your topic in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals from those categories. Enter a relevant search term or phrase (e.g., "art education") into the first search box. Add another search term (e.g., ecology) into the second search box. To narrow your results and make them more relevant, use the field limiters from the drop-down menus. Look for terms in Item Title or Abstract.

This database works similarly to JSTOR, but after clicking Advanced Search select Art and Architecture from the Areas box in the left-hand column.
