The 1619 Project (New York Times Magazine): A multimedia presentation that is a useful starting point for learning about the 1619 Project, an ongoing initiative begun in August 2019 to mark the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery. The project "aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative." Here is a link to the project's lead article (link for TCNJ users only), by Nikole Hannah-Jones.
