Commencement exercises consisted primarily of invocations, class speakers or the presentation of essays, honorary speakers and the awarding of degrees. Baccalaureate exercises occurred shortly before or after the commencements and consisted of hymns, prayers, and addresses. Baccalaureate services had more of a religious connotation as they always occurred on a Sunday. Separate Baccalaureate services were either merged with the commencement exercises or discontinued altogether by around the late 1960's.
(Note: many of the brochures in this series between 1909 and 1932 were at one time pasted into a notebook. The notebook has been disassembled and the pages have been arranged chronologically here, but the back pages of the brochures may not be readable. Please do not attempt to remove the brochures from the pages.)
