Patrons may request a book be pulled from the library stacks and placed on a hold shelf at the Access Services Desk for pickup. Books will be retrieved within 24 hours* of submission of a request and will be held for up to five days. Media items will be held at the Media Services Desk. You will receive an email when your item is ready for pickup.
* When the library is open 7 days a week. When the library is closed for holidays, etc., books will be retrieved within 24 hours of the library reopening.
To request items from TCNJ Library you will need your TCNJ Institution ID (Employee or PAWS #) or the barcode on your ID Card.
To place a hold request, open the library catalog record for that item. If you need help searching, read the How to Find Books guide. If the item is not checked out, you may "Make a Request" located on the right side of the screen under, "Actions."
2. You will then see a login screen. Put in your Institution Id or ID card barcode and your last name.
3. "Place a hold" (ignore the note with the number "available" next to the link)
4. Re-enter your institution ID and "submit"
When the book is available for pickup up you will get a message from Voyager Admin. "The Item you requested has been retrieved and is now available."
